“Sugar” is one of the hottest topics today. Everybody talks about eating less sugar, but only few do something about it. It just feels too difficult, right?

Well, it’s not that difficult, yet very beneficial in the end. Too much sugar has been linked to serious illnesses like cancer, Alzheimer’s and diabetes.

Here you have some tips how to eat less sugar and make more conscious food choices.

1. Eat regularly. When you eat regularly your blood sugar levels are balanced and your cravings are in control.

2. Try to eat protein or fat with each meal. It will help your body to control blood sugar levels.

3. Eat cleaner. More produced your food is, more likely it contains added sugar.

4. Read the product labels carefully. “Sugar” is easy to spot, but it can also hide in products as corn syrup, dextrose, fructose, maple syrup, sucrose or molasse and there are many others, too.

5. When your sweet tooth cries for satisfaction, take a moment and breath. Do you really need that chocolate bar?

6. If you still crave for sugar, take a glass of water. Sometimes it really helps!

7. When you just need to go for it, eat some fruits first before grabbing that bar.
